Harvest Festival Markets
04:00Coincidentally, we decided to take a stroll through Montmatre when the harvest festival markets were on! We didn't know they were there until we arrived but eagerly joined in the fun regardless and grabbed a couple of mulled wines to get into the spirit!
You know it's nearly the best, festive christmassy time of year when the mulled wine comes out to play!
We sipped our warming drinks and wondered around some of the tempting stalls. First to the indoor tent full of breads, cakes, cheese and olive oil.
Then, no messing around- straight onto more deliciousness!
This guy's a little bit scary and off-putting but still....I obvs had to get a picture!
The markets were so vibrant and alive with a particular abundance of macaroons, foie gras, oysters, sweet treats and meat.
The smell of sizzling sausages and chicken kebabs wafted down the chilly streets.
Stall owners battled for customers and displayed their finest cuisine.
Look at this tasty bubbling potion...I wouldn't want to dip my finger in that! I think it would burn the lot off!
Kind stall owners offered out yummy samples of their work, much to my delight!
...and as we came to the end of the markets we were greeted by the most breath-taking view of the Sacre Coeur.
We trotted home happy with a portion of sweet potato fries in hand. Delicious!
