Life Through My Phone Lately

01:53

After attempting Vlogmas during December, I've tended to recently shy away from taking my camera with me absolutely everywhere I go and instead have opted for taking quick snaps on my phone so today when I decided to upload my recent camera photos I was surprised to find that I only had about 2 new pictures on there...so cue a 'Life through my phone lately' post.

Last week I had the flu, I felt so ill and to make it all worse, Ian had gone home for 2 weeks so I was all on my own in Paris. As an attempt to feel better, I decided to go for a walk by the Eiffel Tower which really helped for about an hour but the next day I felt so much worse. Thankfully I'm feeling much better now! It's funny how you never appreciate your health until you're sick.

When I returned to work after my illness I had to prepare the kids their dinner and what better thing to cook than my old favourite; pancakes! Pancakes remind me so much of my childhood because my Nana always used to rustle them up in no time at all if we were feeling a bit peckish and it's something that I've definitely adopted from her. So, in my hour of need when I felt horrendous and had no idea what to cook, pancakes were my savior and the kids absolutely loved them, they smothered them in Emmental cheese, chevre (goats cheese) and ham.)

.
When I'd fully recovered I went out to my favourite bar with a couple of friends, one of whom was set to move to Valencia the following day! Unfortunately my usual drink (mojito) had had a make-UNDER...served in a glass which was half the size and the price had been bumped up :(

When Ian returned to Paris, we went for a day trip to the Louvre, we both fell in love with the amazing architecture and beautiful art.

Here we are posing in front of the iconic Louvre pyramids before heading inside! ^.^

For our first meal together we went to a Greek restaurant and this is the most 'blog-post-worthy' photo I took. It's baklava, a Greek dessert made with wispy thin pastry and nuts, dripping in honey and sprinkled with pistachio.

After two weeks in England for Ian, it came as a bit of a shock to be back in the hustle and bustle of Paris city center so we escaped to Bois de Vincennes for a few hours and appreciated the peace and beauty.

After telling Ian about the nice walk I had by the Eiffel Tower, we decided to head there together. We picked up some delicious, decadent almond and nutella chocolate chip croissants from a Patisserie and jumped on the metro and wandered to the Eiffel Tower. It was so cold and windy so we sat on a bench to eat our treats and admire the gorgeous view. We've decided to finally go up next week, yey!! :D

Here's a picture we took during out walk, I'm so glad Ian's back in Paris, I missed him! I hope you enjoyed the post!
